Hiring a photographer means committing to spend one of the biggest days of your life with someone you have probably met once. So here is the whole process, plainly.
Booking
You send a message. My contact form or email, whichever. I answer every one myself, usually within 48 hours and often faster.
We talk. Phone, video, or coffee if you are local. Twenty or thirty minutes. I want to hear about your day, and you should be figuring out whether you like me. Both matter.
No pressure. I am not going to follow up five times or tell you the date is about to go unless it actually is. If I am not the right fit I will say so and point you toward someone who is.
Contract and retainer. $750 holds the date. Balance is due 14 days before. Prices are listed publicly so you are not doing a discovery call to find out numbers.
Between Booking and the Wedding
This is the part people do not expect, and it is most of the value.
Timeline help. Send me your ceremony time and I will build the photography timeline backward from sunset. I will tell you where it breaks before it breaks. My approach is here.
Venue scouting. If I have not shot your venue, I go look at it, or at minimum study it and figure out where the light will be at your specific time of day.
Questions, any number of them. What to do about a family situation, whether to do a first look, what time to schedule hair and makeup. Ask me. I have seen a lot of weddings and I am happy to be a resource.
An engagement session, if it is in your package. Genuinely useful, and here is why.
On the Wedding Day
I arrive early. Usually fifteen minutes before my start time.
I shoot details first. Rings, invitation, dress, all of it. Put them in one box and this takes twenty minutes.
I stay out of the way. Most of the day you will barely notice me. That is deliberate. The photos I care about most are the ones where nobody is performing.
I direct when it helps. Family photos, wedding party, and portraits, I run those actively. You will not have to invent anything. I will tell you where to stand and what to do with your hands, and if something is not working I will change it.
I handle the awkward stuff. Getting the family organized, wrangling a groomsman who wandered off, telling a guest with an iPad to step back. You should not have to do any of that on your wedding day.
I stay calm when things go wrong. They will. Timelines slip, it rains, someone forgets the boutonnieres. None of it is a crisis and I have seen all of it.
How Much I Direct
Somewhere in the middle, and it shifts through the day.
Getting ready and reception: almost entirely documentary. I am watching, not arranging.
Family and wedding party: fully directed, because that is the fastest way through it.
Couple portraits: guided but loose. I will put you somewhere with good light and give you something to do, then let the actual moment happen rather than posing a face.
After

What I Am Not
I am not a second shooter with a whole team. Most days it is me, and a second photographer when your day actually needs one.
I am not going to run your day. I will help enormously with the photography timeline, but a planner does a different job and does it better.
I am not going to make you do things you hate. If you do not want to be dipped, say so. If you hate being the center of attention, tell me and I will work quietly.
The Honest Pitch
I am a Tampa wedding photographer and I shoot across St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, and Orlando. My work is airy and true to color, and I try to make photos that look like the day actually felt rather than a version of it.
Mostly I want you to forget I am there, and then be surprised by what I caught.
